'Beauty and Fertility' (Ghana)

About his work, Ghanaian artist Samuel Asamoah says, If I could create a world of my own, I'd call it 'The Land of Colors.' He does that name justice in this expressionist painting, which depicts pots and sculptures in a variety of purple, blue and brown hues. The sculptures portrayed here are traditional West African akuaba , or fertility dolls.
