Description This course provides an overview of techniques that aid in the preservation of patient life by early recognition of, and intervention for, signs and symptoms of unstable patients. The course addresses the use of rapid response systems (RRSs) and the rapid response team (RRT) in avoiding respiratory or cardiac arrest, including an examination of how the team assesses and stabilizes patients, communicates to physicians, educates and supports staff, and assists with transfer to a higher level of care if needed. Continuing Education Credit This course qualifies for 1.0 contact hours, which can be earned on this course until June 30, 2017.
